Text Parsing in FileMaker Pro 10: The Substitute and GetValue Functions

Chad Adams continues the series of videos on text parsing. The fifth video in this series explains the ‘Substitute’ and ‘GetValue’ functions.

The Substitute Function returns a modified version of text, in which every occurrence of searchString has been replaced with replacementString. Chad demonstrates this function with straight forward examples. It should be noted that the Substitute Function is case sensitive. The GetValue Function returns a particular value from a return–delimited list. Have a listen, Chad explains and gives great usage scenarios.
