Text Parsing in FileMaker Pro 10 – The Left Functions
FileMaker Certified Developer Chad Adams has prepared a series of short videos that describe the robust text parsing capability available in FileMaker Pro 10.
Text functions allow FileMaker Pro to deal with text strings in a meaningful way. A database cannot see the value in a word or sentence. What it can see is a collection of characters strung together like beads on a necklace. Punctuation and white space carry the same a value as letters and numbers. As you develop solutions in FileMaker Pro understanding how to manipulate these strings of text is imperative. Join our friend Chad for the first video in this series covering the ‘Left-‘ functions.
