Need to do more with PHA Pro? We’re here to help.
Teams at public housing authorities have a complex but vital job. You have to serve your residents well, stay compliant, manage limited resources, and keep information moving across teams and systems that were not always designed to work together.
That is why MRI Software’s PHA Pro is an important foundation for public housing authority teams. It’s a platform built around the specific needs of public housing management and voucher management. But each agency has its own programs, service area, internal processes, and technology environment. Sometimes the core product gets you most of the way there, but additional functionality and integrations with other tools and data sources would make your work much easier.
That is the work we are focused on as an MRI Software consulting partner. We help public housing authorities extend PHA Pro with custom features and connect it to the other systems their teams already depend on.
That might mean building a process that is specific to your agency and is not part of the core product. It might mean integrating PHA Pro with accounting, document management, or inspection management solutions. It can also mean creating custom communication workflows, including custom SMS, so your staff can share timely information with residents without adding another disconnected process.
The common thread is simple: Your technology should support the way your organization works best.
And that matters greatly today because inefficiency has real consequences in public housing. In a June 2026 audit, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of the Inspector General reported that the public housing agencies it had reviewed lost the opportunity to receive more than $106 million in operating subsidies and rental revenue in 2025.
The report identified several causes of delayed unit turnover, including staffing and financial constraints, but it also cited inadequate processes, management oversight, and poor coordination among staff.
No software product can solve every one of those challenges. But when information is fragmented, staff have to enter the same data in multiple places, or a critical handoff depends on a spreadsheet, email, or manual workaround, those are problems that can be identified and solved.
That is where our approach to PHA Pro comes in. We start by understanding your current technology ecosystem, your processes, and what success should look like for your team. Then, we look for the places where a custom feature or integration can remove unnecessary work, improve access to information, or make an existing process easier to manage.
For one agency, the right answer might be connecting PHA Pro to an accounting platform so information moves between systems without repetitive entry. For another, it could be a workflow that brings inspection information into the right place at the right time. Another agency may need a specialized feature that reflects a local program or requirement that off-the-shelf software was never designed to address.
We will be talking about exactly these kinds of opportunities at MRI Ascend 2026, October 18-21 in Las Vegas. If you or your team are attending the conference, visit the Skeleton Key booth and tell us where your current PHA Pro workflow is creating extra work. We’ll be glad to talk through the problem and show you how custom features or integrations could help your team do more with the platform you already use.
Not attending Ascend? Reach out to us anytime. We will start with your process, your systems, and the challenge you are trying to solve, then help you identify the best solution for you and the community you serve.
