We believe that organizations with the power to effect change have an obligation to help others, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Founder Mark Richman started with a background in a different kind of tech and design, i.e., theatrical design and production. Whether he was providing technical direction, production management, or set and lighting design, finding and driving consensus was the order of the day. Everyone understood that any team member, from the highest-paid diva to the stagehand handling the spotlight or scene changes, could make or break the success of a production.
That kind of open, collaborative, team-centered approach was very much a part of Richman when fate intervened, in the form of an introduction to FileMaker (now Claris FileMaker), bringing him into the world of application development. FileMaker was (and still is) both flexible and easy to learn, which meant that it didn’t take long before what had initially started out as a passion for an effective tool quickly grew into a company.
In 2002, Skeleton Key was born, focusing on helping a diverse set of clients develop custom business applications to organize their data, improve their workflow, and foster workplace innovation.
