‘How To’ Article Featured in October Newsletter for FileMaker TechNet

Mark Richman, President of Skeleton Key, was both flattered and happy to contribute his FileMaker “How To” article, Replicating an External Authentication Environment for Development, in the October, 2011 issue of the FileMaker Technical Network e-Newsletter that circulated today. Mark’s “How To” article discusses the benefits to replicating an externally authenticated production environment for training or development purposes, and without having access to an Active or Open Directory environment. The article shows the reader how to take advantage of their laptop’s existing directory structure to replicate the customer’s directory structure, allowing a developer to use external authentication while developing ‘offline’. In addition to finding this article in the Tips section of the October FileMaker TechNet e-newsletter, FileMaker Technical Network (TechNet) members can download it from the “How To Articles” section under “Technical Resources” in the TechNet Members Only area. TechNet is a community of FileMaker enthusiasts that includes database developers, designers and users. Membership includes exclusive access to technical info, software and other developers. The $99 membership is valuable for anyone who wants to enhance his or her FileMaker skills and learn the latest in FileMaker solution development. TechNet launched a “How To” article program in the April 2011 issue, to give seasoned FileMaker developers the opportunity to share a useful and practical FileMaker development technique. Mark’s article is geared toward FileMaker developers with intermediate and/or advanced experience. Nancy Rodriguez manages Operations & Marketing at Skeleton Key.
